Enhancing Community-Engaged Research

What does enhanced community-engaged research look like?

Community-engaged research involves research teams and communities working as co-equal partners to design and carry out studies, analyze data, and share and implement study findings. A strong community-engaged research field means deep and trusting partnerships among community-based organizations, community health workers, and researchers; rigorous and reproduceable science and data; and actionable, community-centered solutions to address differences in health outcomes in chronic diseases.

How does CEAL enhance community-engaged research?

CEAL promotes strength and innovation in community-engaged research by supporting, evaluating, synthesizing, and elevating research teams’ findings, outcomes, and promising practices. The program also fosters and shares knowledge, both within and beyond CEAL, by offering toolkits, trainings and technical assistance, public event support, publication dissemination, research snapshots, and a community of practice for community-based organizations, all in service of research teams working to promote health and thriving communities.
