CEAL welcomes Dr. Gniesha Dinwiddie as new Scientific Program Director

The NIH Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) is pleased to welcome Gniesha Dinwiddie, Ph.D., as the new Scientific Program Director of CEAL. Dr. Dinwiddie joins the Center for Translation Research and Implementation Sciences at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). For CEAL, Dr. Dinwiddie will lead in programming to promote health, improve health outcomes, and strengthen community partnerships through community-engaged research to address health disparities. 

Dr. Dinwiddie brings extensive leadership and research experience to her new role. She joins NHLBI from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities where she led initiatives to improve healthcare access and quality for communities. Her previous work has focused on understanding the social factors that influence health and developing strategies to ensure everyone receives optimal care.

With a background in social epidemiology, Dr. Dinwiddie specializes in cardiovascular disease, social determinants of health, community-engaged research, and data science. She has also held academic positions and contributed to numerous high-impact publications.

CEAL looks forward to Dr. Dinwiddie’s leadership and contributions to strengthen community-engaged research. Her expertise will undoubtedly support CEAL's mission to foster community partnerships and build trust in science and research.
