Climate Health

What is climate health?

Climate health refers to the health effects of a changing climate. Climate changes influence human health and disease in many ways. A changing climate can make some existing health issues worse and cause new health issues.

Why is CEAL focusing on climate health?

Some people are more at risk for climate-related health issues than others. People from Black, Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander, and Asian communities are at higher risk of climate-related health problems than whites. Racial disparities related to climate changes exist concerning respiratory and cardiovascular disease, heat-related illness, and death.
