Climate and Health
What is climate and health?
Climate health refers to the health effects of a changing climate. Climate change influences human health and disease in many ways. A changing climate can worsen some existing health issues and cause new diseases.
Why is CEAL focusing on climate and health?
Some are more at risk for climate-related health issues than others. People from Black, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander, and Asian communities are at higher risk of climate-related health problems than Whites. Racial disparities related to climate changes exist in respiratory and cardiovascular disease, heat-related illness, and death.
