American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders Enrichment Initiative

The American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AI/AN NHPI) Enrichment Initiative encourages community-driven, scientifically precise, intervention-based research. This research will address disparities in social and structural determinants of health that impact preventing and managing chronic disease and evolving public health threats in these populations. Projects will create sustainable research infrastructures that grow healthy and resilient communities.

The AI/AN NHPI Enrichment Initiative was established to involve groups with the skills, availability, and demonstrable achievements in community engagement and outreach within AI/AN NHPI communities. This initiative’s role is critical to CEAL’s success in ensuring that these communities directly benefit from research discoveries and understanding the best approaches to addressing health inequities.
